The Department of Youth Creativity participates in the development of vocational education in form of competitions and presenting activities of STS and SVS in the SR. One of the main tasks of the Department is the national school exhibition of students’ products and services with international importance and involvement JUVYR.

Secondary vocational schools from the Slovak Republic, as well as foreign schools, significantly participate in its successful realization. The exhibition is held annually in November in the capital of SR – Bratislava. The schools present their in-school and extracurricular activities in connection with the beginning of school year, in different form. The presentation can be in form of workshops, exhibition of the skills, participation in seminars, innovations’ exchange, active inputs of educators – lecturers; it can be in form of exhibition and sale of products of practical training, by participation of skilled students in competitions etc.

Another area of the Department’s activity is focused at the development of youth creativity in form of participation of talented secondary school students in specialized competitions: the national competition SOC – Secondary Scientific Activity, the competition of young prospective scientists, and ZENIT, competition for secondary school students.

Zenit is a competition in the field of programming, micro-electronics and engineering which is highly specified and technically directed. This competition addresses only special group of secondary school students and 114 winners of school and regional competitions compete at the national level. The tasks are challenging, competitors are divided according to age and knowledge into several categories. School computing centers in SR are partners in organizing these competitions also because the specific needs on computer technology equipment.

Last but not least we can mention the "Milk Competition", he enunciator of which is ME SR, focusing specifically on agricultural schools.

The support of these events is aimed at the development of talent and abilities of students, the development of independent creative vocational-theoretical skills and competencies which are inseparably related to occupational preparation of youth and in line with the approved Conception of State Policy in connection with youth till the year 2007.

The fact that this intention is not just expressed in words is promoted by the annual personal patronage of the Minister of Education over the above mentioned activities.
